Ok, Kids, Can You Say “Hypocrisy”?

I’ve just been watching Fox News, something I do occasionally, (when I’ve been a particularly bad girl and feel I need the punishment) and it was really a grueling session this time. The “reporters” spent practically the whole time I was watching talking about - and puking up excuses for - Mark Foley’s “mistake”. Actually, one of the women did seem to be pretty disgusted with the guy, especially since he’s been a regular on their news shows and promoted a “Sexual Preditor” Bill at one point, but the others couldn’t seem to find enough excuses for the guy. It was truly sickening, and had I eaten before watching, I think I might have hurled.
One broad even went all the way back to the 1980’s in an attempt to link a Democrat to a sex scandal with a page. I couldn’t help thinking what a different style of reporting we would have gotten had it been, say, Barney Frank who’d been sending sexually explicit e-mails to young male pages. The man would have been pilloried by every reporter on there, and every guest they brought on to talk about it. Mr. Foley didn’t have even one guest talking about the crime he committed, let alone castigating him and calling for his head, as would be the case if it had been Mr. Frank.
I really don’t get it. I don’t care which political party a pervert is from, especially when that perversion is directed toward kids, and I just can’t understand why it should make a difference to these people, but it clearly does. That’s as sick as the Congressman’s acts are, if you ask me. The man’s a pervert, plain and simple, and molly coddling the truth is just plain wrong. I mean, they actually feel sorry that the guy got caught! I wonder what they’d have said had it been their son he’d been sending those e-mails to?
In the same program they were talking about a show they will have on soon about Donald Rumsfeld, defending him against the “attacks” on his character brought on by his fumbling of the Iraq war. Now, that’s fine, but there was one part that also had me shaking my head in disbelief. How many of you think, had they interviewed, say, Hillary Clinton and asked about her religious beliefs, that they would have defended her for saying she doesn’t want to talk about that? Well, that’s exactly what they did with Rummy.
It seems the guy got upset that they asked him about that, and while he answered the question to some degree, he later told them he wanted no more questions about what he believes in that area. And these “reporters” were quick to say that some people don’t like to talk about their religious beliefs, that some people are just that private, that it’s the right of public figures to keep that part of their lives private…..SINCE WHEN???
Had this been Hillary, or Bill, or Al Gore, or Howard Dean….any Democrat, they would be all over their reluctance to talk as proof they were Commie-loving atheists, and America needs to be wary of them, and you all know that. The hypocrisy of these people is so glaringly blatant as to be beyond belief, isnt’ it?
Anyway, I just wanted to vent for a while, to relieve the pressure that made me feel as if I would actually hurl. I wish I’d taped it so I could send it to every news agency around so they could show it to the world and expose them for the Conservative-butt-kissing fools they are. And anyone who ever talks to me about how biased “the mainstream media” is would get their own copy to peruse, because we all know that when we talk about such things, we are always lying. I bet if we did have tapes of the things they’ve lied and been two-faced about, tho, we’d just be told we’d somehow doctored it to make it look that way. You just can’t win with these people, because hypocrisy is a way of life for them that is as normal as eating, sleeping, and even breathing.
