1st question: “Sen. Clinton, why have you been so mean to Sen. Obama by chastising him for sending out brochres full of lies about you?” “Sen. Obama, why has Sen. Clinton been so mean to you?” Sound familiar? It should, it’s the treatment given to these two in every debate they’ve had, along with the fact Obama can say what he wants, for as long as he wants, and he gets to answer everything Clinton says. The same can’t be said for her. Is it any wonder the sheeple who watch vote that Obama wins every one, even tho the most cogent, coherent answers are always given by Sen. Clinton? I thought debates were won by those who made the best points and counterpoints, didn’t you? In this contest, that seems not to be the case. I have said in the past that if I were ever to vote for a Republican, it would probably be John McCain. It looks like I might get my chance this time, because I certainly won’t vote for Obama. He isn’t up to the job, and his attitude and actions during this campaign show me clearly he’s not the person I want to have in charge. So, holding my nose all the way, if Obama gets the Democratic nomination, I will be voting for John McCain in November. God help us all.

HEY!! While you guys have been sleepwalking, voting for Obama in droves because….well, mostly because “everyone else is doing it”, the Republicans have been herding you along like sheep. What’s the matter with you all?

Come on, do you really believe Republicans are voting for the #1 Liberal voter in the Senate because they like his views? Puh-leeeeze! First, he has no views with substance, only vague feel-good rhetoric mostly stolen from others. Second, since when do Republicans back anything Liberal? That’s like Jerry willingly walking into Tom’s open mouth, for goodness sake. It simply ain’t gonna happen in real life. So what’s really going on, you ask?

Simple. As I’ve stated before, Republicans are scared spitless of facing Hillary in the national election, because there’s nothing they can throw at her that she hasn’t already fought off more than once. She’s Teflon, baby, and they know that. They know they can’t get John “What, me hang with Lobbyists?” McCain elected if he goes against Hill, no matter what the inflated polls say now, so they have to get her out of the way. And the way to do that? GO OUT AND VOTE FOR OBAMA IN DROVES!!!!!

Yes, boys and girls, you are being played big time by the very people you claim to dislike so much. They are playing you like a cheap fiddle, fools. And that’s not the worst part, because we expect dirty tricks from them. I wouldn’t be surprised, actually, if this isn’t straight from Rove’s pointy little head, it sure sounds like something he’d come up with, but that doesn’t make it any easier to swallow. No, the fact that we are being led around by the nose yet again is what bugs the heck out of me. Just how stupid are we?

I know I don’t have the largest readership in the world, but I’m hoping whoever comes in here and reads this will copy it, paste it in their own blog or on whatever message boards you go to, so more Democrats will be made aware of what’s going on here and stop them dead in their tracks. Come on, how long are we going to let these guys trick us into doing exactly what will turn out to be the worst thing for us? Let’s stop it now, while we still can. Because if we continue to let this happen, and if Obama gets the treatment we know is waiting for him should he be the nominee, we will end up with President John McCain on November 20, 2009, and there won’t be one darn thing we can do about it.

Make no mistake, the Republicans have a lot of dirt on Obama. You can tell by the way they talk about the upcoming elections, the grins that cross their faces as they speak about it, and in some cases, the drool that escapes their lips before being furtively wiped away. Whatever it is, it’s something he’s not going to be able fight, and we will be “swiftboated” yet again. We already know his minister’s close association with Louis Farakhan, Obama’s lack of respect for the national anthem by keeping his hands clutched in front of him while everyone else has their hand over their heart, and his association with slimeballs will be used against him ad nauseum, but there is something else, something big that we haven’t heard about yet because they’re saving it for the main event. Anyone who thinks otherwise will be rudely awakened once the nominees are set, if Obama is the winner.

Spread the news now, when it counts and can make a difference. Mark my words, unless Hillary is our nominee, we will lose again, and there will be at least four more years of Republican rule in the White House, with the 100 year war locked into place and more economic quagmire for us to be sucked down into. The future is clear with a John McCain win, and the win is all but set in stone with Obama as the Democratic nominee. All these “Obamicans” he brags so much about now will scurry back to their own party as soon as he’s nominated, laughing all the way, and he will fall from the pedestal he’s been set upon as surely as the sun came up in the East this morning and will set in the West tonight. Get the alarm going, make it loud and strong, and stop this travesty before it gets started. Please, fellow Democrats, take this to heart. It’s too important not to.

Ok, maybe this is nitpicky, but come on, when Bill Clinton says something people construe as the least bit off, he gets raked over the coals and Hillary suffers for it. Turn about’s fair play, right? So here goes my take on Mrs. Obama’s Faux Pas.

“This is the first time in my adult life that I’ve really been proud of my country…” Really, Michelle? Not when we all pulled together to help those adversely affected by 9/11, or Hurricane Katrina? How about when we all join hands or take a walk to help fight AIDS and breast cancer? Nothing, huh? What do you feel when you hear the National Anthem, or see our flag flying at the head of a parade? That doesn’t stir up feelings of pride for you? Only the fact that people are voting for your husband, giving him a good chance to make it to the White House does it for you, huh? Whatever.

I hate to seem so petty, but it’s really not a petty thing to me. I love my country, and I am so proud to be an American I can’t even find the words to express it. Sure, the last seven years have given me a whole lot of “Eeeerrgggh!” moments, when I simply couldn’t believe we were doing whatever stupid, arrogant, and yes, even evil thing we were doing at Bush’s behest, but all the while my love of my country stood firm, and my pride in being a citizen of the most wonderful country in the world did, too. I would hate to think the only way I could feel that pride is if I felt I was probably going to be living in the White House soon, thanks to my husband’s way with words. It boggles my mind.

I’ve heard some talking heads trying to explain it away, but there really is no way to do that. She plainly said this is the only time she’s REALLY felt proud to be an American. Maybe it’s a matter of not understanding what the word means, I don’t know, but let’s look into it, just for the heck of it, shall we?

“I love broccoli, but I really love chocolate sundaes.” Can you see the difference here? Really is an adverb, if my grade school English isn’t failing me. It modifies the verb “love”, making it even more powerful than it usually is. “I really love him.” “Is she really that smart?” “What do you really think.” See? It adds to whatever you’re trying to express, making it more important, more powerful, or more enjoyable than it normally would be. So when Michelle Obama says she REALLY feels pride in America for the first time, she is telling us it’s more than she’s ever felt before. And I simply can’t get over the fact that it’s her husband’s success at bringing in the votes that’s doing that for her. It seems to me to be a very shallow idea, or a very racist one.

Yes, I said it, racist. To me, what she’s saying is she is so much more proud of America because even whites are voting for her black husband. Honestly, what else can she be saying? And that being the case, why aren’t the pundits yelling about HER racist comment like they did about Bill and Hillary when they said things that were no worse than what she’s saying? It seems to me it’s just another example of how they are pushing the Obama candidacy and doing everything they can to derail Hillary. Does anyone else agree with me? Am I taking this far too seriously? Am I making more of it than I should be? I don’t think so, but if you have a good argument as to why it’s so, let me know.

I guess that sounds naive in this day and age, but it just bugs me that the only way some people can think of to express their feelings about one candidate or the other is to slime them. Hillary’s had more of that than anyone in this race, of course, but the others haven’t been immune to it, either. Maybe it’s just me, but I prefer comparing the candidate’s stances on the issues I care about than on what kind of supposed smut can be dug up about them.

Take Obama, for instance. I just saw an ad on my Google AdSense box, something about “The Real Obama Uncovered”, and it really bugs me. Number one, it’s on MY page, but number two, it simply reeks of the same bilge and cow dung that permeated the “Real Truth About Bill Clinton” tape that Jerry Falwell was spreading around in 1996. It’s probably still making the rounds, too, which is mind-blowing in itself. However, we’re talking about Obama now, so we’ll just move on from that one.

Any one who’s read this website the last couple of months knows I am not an Obama fan. Not that I don’t like the guy, really, I just don’t think he is ready for the Oval Office and I really don’t like his attitude, etc. Be that as it may, I don’t think he’s a bad guy, and if it comes down to it in November, I would be voting for him over John McCain without a second thought. No, I’m not a fan, but I certainly don’t think he deserves what some are doing to him, either.

There’s the whole Muslim thing, for one. I have to admit, I had a slight twinge the other day when I heard his minister was very good friends with the head of the Black Muslims, Louis Farakhan, but that’s a long way from swearing Barack Hussein Obama is a Muslim. He is a Baptist, at least as far as I know, and it’s wrong to try to scare people into not voting for him by painting him as something he’s not. I have nothing against Muslims, either, as I realize they are simply worshipping their God as they believe they are supposed to. Yes, some are weirdos, ie: Osama Bin Laden and the Taliban, but for the most part, they are decent people who don’t believe killing Christians is a command from God.

There are those, however, who feel scaring the American people into doing what they want is the way to get their way in all things, and it just makes me sick. They conjure up boogeymen made of 9/11, Taliban, Bin Laden, Al Quaeda, bombs, attacks, terrorists waiting to get us…..anything that will make people afraid and keep them that way. It’s the Red Scare all over again. I keep waiting for the next Joe McCarthy to step up and start screaming “terrorist!” at everyone who seems different somehow…..oh wait…..we already have Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld, don’t we? Never mind…..

The point of all this is, if we are ever to become a nation of thinkers, the people who can get a hold on our problems and figure a way out of them, we have to stop jumping at every shadow they cast for us. Grow up, get a grip, and ignore their idotic rantings. We have to start looking at what each candidate thinks about the problems that need fixing, what their ideas are for fixing them, and how closely that matches our own thoughts and feelings on the subject. We have to stop letting these peabrained hate mongers turn us here and there, looking for spooks under the bed or in the closet, and turn the light of truth on so they can be seen for what they are. We need to vote with our head, not our yellow backbone. And we need to grow into the nation we were destined to become, the one our forefathers dreamed we’d become, the one so many have given their lives to insure we become. If we don’t, we won’t last a whole lot longer. Fear does nothing but eat away at our common sense and send us in directions that cause more pain and disruption. It’s time we grow a pair and act like adults. Way past time.

It sure looks like Obama has managed to wriggle his way into the nomination, doesn’t it? Hillary seems to be all but out of the running all together. I have to say this really makes me doubt the intelligence of my fellow Democrats. Honestly, does it really make sense to anyone out there?

Since when does flowery speech carry more weight than experience and a record of accomplishments in the very areas we need so much help with these days? Yes, the man can give some pretty good speaches, as long as he’s reading them, but honestly, what the heck is he saying? We want change….Duh! America needs to get back where it was before Bush muddied our name all over the world….Double Duh! We need something different….Absolutely! But why doesn’t he tell us exactly how he’s going to bring all this about? When has he EVER given specifics about what he will do and how he will do it? I haven’t heard it, have you?

All I hear is why Hillary is not a good choice, and veiled innuenedo about her “racist tendencies”, her “pro war feelings”, and her “shady antics” over the years. Well, excuse me if I’m wrong, but hasn’t she been investigated ad nauseum, with not one illegal thing being found? How much has Obama’s past been investigated? What does he have way back when that people can whisper about and use to discredit him? We don’t know yet, but make no mistake, if he gets the nomination, the Republicans will find it all and blast it all over the world. There’s nothing they can smear Hillary with that she hasn’t already beaten down with the truth, but Obama? He hasn’t been scratched yet.

Hillary, on the other hand, tells us what she wants to do, how she wants to do it, and how she’s going to get it done. For someone who likes to vote on a person’s ideas and past accomplishments, she strikes me as being the most intelligent option we have, yet people are swarming to Obama because he says pretty things. Go figure.

This isn’t the first time I have tilted at windmills in the election department. I spent 2000 and 2004 trying my best to warn people not to put Bush in there, to no avail. I was right then, and I’m right now, not that it will do any good. I don’t have a large enough audience to make a difference. I just hope that if Obama gets the nomination, and if he actually wins the Presidency (which I’m not at all sure he will do once the Republicans start in on him), he won’t do even more damage than Bush has done to us. I don’t think we could survive it, quite honestly. And with Putin stirring the pot, adding warmed-over Cold War rhetoric to the mix, we need someone in there who has the backbone to stand up to bullies and back them down, not someone who, as Obama has said himself, would rather sit back and batter them with pretty words. Pretty words won’t do the job on them. Oh, well. We get what we vote for, like it or not.

It’s very simple: listen to their glee at every uptick of Obama’s ratings. Seriously, every Republican talking head you hear, every person flapping their gums on Faux News Network literally glow whenever they get to say that Obama is gaining on Clinton and will probably win this or that state. They are almost peeing themselves with glee, I tell you. Now, why do you think that is? They know they can walk all over him on their way to the White House, that’s why. They are not the least bit afraid of having him as the Democratic candidate.

Now, I don’t know why that is, unless they realize he will be such an easy target for their mudslinging, while Hillary has shown time and again they simply can’t beat her down, no matter what they throw at her. She is not afraid to fight back and won’t let them say whatever they want with no reply. And she certainly won’t turn into a whining mass of “They’re so racist” everytime someone says something mean about her. They are scared spitless of facing her because they know she can and will kick their lying backsides out of the White House and won’t break a sweat doing so.

Honestly, I can’t see the reason why we Democrats are still so easily falling into the traps the Republicans set for us. You’d think we’d have learned by now, but apparently not. Obama’s so cute, and he’s black, and he “speaks so well”, etc - that’s the reasons so many are giving for supporting him, along with “We’re ready for change”. Well, as Hillary pointed out the other night, no matter which of them gets into the Oval office, it will be the first real change since this country began. Do people really think she will carry on with Bush’s ignorant, self-centered, and just plain wrong programs and decisions? Puh-leeeze! She wants to get us back on the right track, change what we’ve had for the last seven years, and what’s more, she has the experience and know-how to do just that. What’s the problem with that? Just what kind of change are they looking for if not that? I just don’t get it.

Anyway, pay attention to those who are going orgasmic every time they can report Obama moving closer to Hillary and see if you aren’t convinced I’m telling the truth. I fear we’re heading into another defeat and at least four more years of the same old stuff Bush has been giving us if we don’t wake up and smell the coffee. God help us if that happens.

It seems we have a diety running for President this year, and not because he’s a member of the Religious Right. I’m not sure what he’s done to deserve such accolades, but nevertheless, there he is, being hailed right and left as the savior of our nation. And we’ve even had Caroline Kennedy baptizing him as her father’s clone. It’s really a bit much, don’t you think?

Ok, the guy seems like a nice guy…. most of the time, anyway. He’s good-looking, smart, and has a real way with the turn of a phrase. Other than that, tho, what’s he really got? To hear all his star-struck admirers tell it, he can do just about everything but walk on water, and they’re not too sure that won’t be happening before too long, too. He’s supposed to be the cure for Bush II’s eight-year rein of terror because…..well, because he’s new to the game. Doesn’t anyone else see the folly of that thought? In what other profession do we celebrate the fact the person who’s about to make life-altering changes to us is a newbie and not a well-seasoned professional? Honestly, can you think of any? A heart or brain surgeon…….I don’t think so. A rocket scientist charged with getting the space shuttle into space and back safely and in one piece……not likely. How about the guy who’s designing and putting together your home, or your car, or your wedding dress? Nope, we want someone with a verifiable track record in whatever it is. Yet we want to entrust our country and the world at large to an amateur? I certainly hope not!

It is looking more and more like we are going to pass up the veteran, the one with the experience in governing, in working both sides of the aisle, and dealing with foreign leaders in favor of the one who has less than the equivalent of an AA degree from our local junior college in all those areas. What’s wrong with this picture? It sure scares the bejeebers out of me, that’s for sure.

And another thing. Remember when Bush, Jr, was running in 2000 and there were questions about his ability to do the job since he had so little experience? He assured us it would be fine, since he would have a lot of good people around, advising him as to which way to turn. Look what’s happened to us under his reign. It’s not a pretty sight by any stretch of the imagination. Yet now we have another newbie telling us it’s ok, he’ll have a lot of good advisors by his side……deja vu, anyone?

I certainly hope my fears are misplaced, that we really are capable of making an informed decision using logic and common sense. I pray that once the smoke clears, Hillary Clinton will be the Democratic nominee, and intelligence will win the day over knee-jerk sicophancy. I mean, 8 years of incompetent “leadership” is more than enough, thank you. We don’t need to continue it.

And another thing. Mr. Obama has shown us that when he’s being pressed on his record, etc, he will whine like a baby about those awful, racist people picking on him. Do we really want more of that in our nominee? I’d prefer someone who’s dealt with the dirty tricks the Republicans play at every turn and knows how to overcome them. That person is Hillary Clinton. As the commercial says, she’s taken a lick’n and kept on tick’n. She will be able to stand up to them, put the truth out there for all to see, and never back down. That’s what we need in a candidate who can overcome instead of one who won’t even try to defend him/herself, allowing the Republicans to define who they are supposed to be.

For those and so many other reasons, we need Hillary Clinton this year. And as she said in their last debate, it took a Clinton to clean up after the first Bush administration, and it will take a Clinton to clean up after the second, also. She may not be the new Messiah nor the clone of a past great President, but she is tough, she is smart, she does have good ideas, and she will fight for us to the death. That’s something we’ve sorely missed the last eight years, and it would be great to get it back.
